Annual School Report

I have great pleasure in presenting to you the Annual Report of The Summit School. This year has been a very eventful one for us. We have made great efforts to transform ourselves completely into the CCE format and have been extremely successful in most of our endeavors. Apart from preparing the children to qualify for purely academic demands special efforts are being made continously to enable them to face the challenges of the competitive world. It's a matter of great importance to us that the students who pass out from portals should carry forward the values they have inherited, excel in whatever they do and be role models in the society.

1. Workshop for Teachers - Prior to the commencement of the academic session, training programs were organised for enhancing Creative Teaching, Motivation and Communication Skills for our esteemed teachers.

2. Orientation - As a regular practice followed every year this session began with the Orientation Programme for the parents of all students classwise. The programme made the parents aware of the scheme of education we impart here at our school, a query-resolving session.

3. Daily Activity - After the school prayer and the pledge the students deliver the thought of the day and a small speech on the same followed by a prayer song. On every Friday the students come up with News Bulletin for the week. Prayer session ends with our national anthem.

4. Colour Day Celebration (Pre Primary classes) - The pre primary classes celebrated their colour day with fun and enthusiasm in the school premises. All the students from this department and the teachers dressed colourfully to celebrate this occasion. The motive of celebrating this day was to make aware of colours, its significance and to develop fine motor skills. Students actively participated in skit, painting, recitation competition, palm painting activity etc.

5. Environment Day celebration - Students gave an encouraging speech about how we depend on the natural surrounding for our very survival. They also performed a skit spreading awareness to appreciate, respect and conserve nature and to take forward the call of Protecting Planet Earth among the citizens. They even planted saplings around the school premises to notify Vanmahotsav.

6. Teacher's Day celebration - It took a rare turn this year when students came together and took the celebration to a whole new level through their astounding performances.

7. Independence Day - Independence Day was celebrated with a patriotic spirit by hoisting the national flag. A talk on the significance of 15th August and the spirit it symbolizes was given by our Mentor. Dance performances were done by all the classes as well as teachers.

8. Children's Day -It was a fun filled day for students of The Summit School. Colourful programme was presented by teachers to celebrate the occasion. Teachers sang, danced and even enacted on stage to make the morning memorable.

9. Picnic - "All Work and No Play makes Jack a Dull Boy. The school has organizeda picnic program for the students & teachers. The students were taken to Ram Krishna Institute of Science and Technology, Gobindopur, where they carried out host of activities like outdoor games.

10. Christmas Carnival - This gave the students an amazing opportunity to show case their potential. We invited the whole community to spend an evening with us thus making them a part of us.

11. Little Scholar's Fair - It was held in the month of February. The students came forward with new creative ideas and models on topics given separately for every class. Many new concepts were showcased by even the pre primary students.

12. Sports Day - The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 2nd February 2019 with great zeal and excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The Programme began with the Principal welcoming the esteemed gathering. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grandway. The students displayed fan drill, pompom drill, gymnastics, pyramid formation mesmerising the audience with their energetic performances. Students competed in events including relays, sack race, obstacle race, skipping race, balance race etc......Fun time with staff musical chair and parents race added to the enjoyment.

13. Annual Book Reading with Scholastics - One Nation Reading Together was an annual event, conducted by Scholastic India on the last Friday of November, where children, teachers even admin staff spend 45 minutes reading. Students also participated in other activities that celebrate reading as a pleasurable and enriching experience.

15. Other Activities - Promoting harmony across all communities, special assemblies are conducted on a regular basis where all the festivals irrespective of the religion are fondly celebrated. To bring out the talent of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities / competitions like - Speech competition, Poster making, Spell Bee, World Music Day, Environmental Book Mark, Reuse of waste material, Diya painting, T-Shirt Painting etc. were conducted during the course of the year. The school has many students who not only excel in academic but also in the other co curricular areas. Many of them have already performed on stage to the outside world, thus making an interesting career option.
